Interessanter Ansatz, um das Thema Desktop weiterzuentwickeln. Die visuelle Metapher unterstützt auf jeden Fall das räumliche Wiederfinden meiner Dokumente: “Wo hab ich noch gleich das PDF hingeschmissen….”.

Ars Electronica Center – Linz

Am Samstag war ich in Linz – Europäische Kulturhauptstadt 2009 – da ist gerade jede Menge in neue Museen investiert worden. U.a. ist auch ein Museum für Medienkunst und innovative elektronische Visionen erstellt worden: Das Ars Electronica Center.
Besonders spannend ist die Ausstellung in den Bereichen 3D (z.B. gibt es einen 3D Printer und die nächste Generation der Cave), Roboter, Wahrnehmungspsychologie.
Könnte, zusammen mit eine Besuch im BMW-Museum, das aus Sicht der Medientechnik auch sehr interessant ist, ein nächster N&L Event werden.
Die Medientechnik für das BMW-Museum hat übrigens die sehr spannende Firma Art&Com gemacht, die auch einen eigenen Austellungsbereich in Linz hat. Hier ein paar Bilder und Links zum Thema:

TED sixth sense technology

This demo – from Pattie Maes’ lab at MIT, spearheaded by Pranav Mistry – was the buzz of TED. It’s a wearable device with a projector that paves the way for profound interaction with our environment.

Basically, Sixth Sense is a mini-projector coupled with a camera and a cellphone – which acts as the computer and your connection to the Cloud, all the information stored on the web.

Sixth Sense can also obey hand gestures, like in the movie “Minority Report”.
